To My Fellow Blog Stalkers

On Wednesday, I had a woman come up to me and begin our conversation by confessing that she is a blog stalker. She said that she LOVED my blog, but she had not yet commented on anything. She promised that she would so hopefully this draws her out a bit and gives her the courage to go ahead and leave me a comment.

After talking with her this got me thinking about how many other potential “blog stalkers” I have out there. Are you really out there? If you are, I want you to know that you are not alone! I know exactly how it feels, when you don’t know someone, but you find yourself checking on their blog anyway. I have several people that I knew in college whose blogs I stalk just because I like to read what they write.

I much like you have never had the courage to comment on their blogs. Maybe I should? In the past I don’t want to leave a comment, because I don’t want people to know that I have been stalking them! I think people would appreciate that I read their blog, because I know I am thankful to those of you who read mine.

I want all of you to know that this is a comment friendly zone. I am going to remind and encourage you to leave me comments and fed back. I know that I am not the only with a story to tell and I would love to hear yours. So come out of the shadows and into the light. Leave your blog stalking ways behind and start talking to me!

Ha. It is funny because I told you I have been stalking, then I hadn't read for a few days. Imagine my surprise when I saw this post :) I will try to be a better commenter.(I think that should be a word) I do enjoy reading your blog. Partly because I do not make my way down your way very often and it is nice to get to know you a little better through your blog! I love reading what you have to say and the encouraging words and great recipes! Feel free to check out my blog: af-teamrb.blogspot.com I would love to chat with you in person some time about food, health, running, life, etc...
Thanks again!

I was so excited this morning when I checked my email and saw that I had received my first comment!! Thank you!! You are not the first person to tell me that you read my blog, but don’t comment on anything so I just had to talk about it. Thank you for your blog address as well. It is nice to have a way to get to know people who don’t live really close to me. I love talking and chatting about pretty much anything so just let me know when your free and we can try to get together sometime. I hope you have a great week!

God Bless,
Jennifer

Jennifer,

Thanks for commenting on my blog! I am starting WW for the umpteenth time. I'm excited and motivated but also worried. I don't want to try and fail again. It truly almost kept me from starting. What do you think made you stick with changing your lifestyle to a healthy one and not quit. I feel like I'm reading into thin air to try to grasp something that isn't there...the elusive "it" to help me stick with this to goal.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Hi Mrs. O

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I admire your bravery. I know how hard that can be to try and restart the program again.

I was told by my doctor, at age 24, that I was pre-diabetic and I had high blood pressure. That helped me to realize that I had to change how I was living. I did not want to end up on medication for the rest of my life.

You might write down some reasons why you are starting WW again. That way when you reach a point in your weight loss when you are discouraged and want to give up, you can refer back to how you felt in the beginning. It truly is a day by day, moment by moment struggle to make the right choices for myself.

I look forward to hearing great things about your weight loss!

Jennifer

I'm so glad I ran into your blog on a week-end. Especially a 3 day weekend. I will be following you from now on and will be catching up (I saw you on MckMama's forum).
I have struggled with my weight since probably about 3rd grade. so, as long as I can remember. I joined WW in April for the 14th time since Oct of 2002 and the 16th time in my lifetime). I lost 52 pounds the first time. I got sick of the "restriction" so I took a break and gained it all back in about 9 months or so. (usually I tell people I gained it back in 5 minutes which is what it seemed like)
The last two weeks I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO STOP EATING and I'm going crazy. I FINALLY was disciplined today (only with the strength of the Lord) but one day at a time.

Jen Newsham said...

MrsMarkDave - I am so glad to meet you! I believe that weight loss is a life long struggle and you can only do it with the Lord's strength. Congrats on being disciplined today!! I look forward to getting to know you better in the blogging world!

Hi Jen, I've just read your blog for the first time. I love it. I'm a Christian and a WW too. I think you found me first on Blog Frog, actually. I don't know how people are finding me there, but I'm getting a few followers now. How long have you been blogging? And congratulations on your weight loss!! I'm new to blogging just this year, and it did take some getting use to to write a comment. Now I'm trying to get use to writing a post for my own blog. I do want it to be personal and witty, etc :) I'll get there. And I'll get there with the weight loss too. I've gained everything back plus more in the last couple of years. But I've got my head around it now and am begging to lose. I'll be 50 next year, so want to be at goal for that celebration! So I'll be checking in on you. I've signed up to your feed too. I'll need lots of your inspiration. By the way, I grew up in Oregon, but now live in Australia. Are you on FB too, Jen? Have a great week. Bless ya heaps. Sandy

Jen Newsham said...

Hi Sandy! I have been blogging for about 3 years. But I started my weight loss blog less than a year ago. I can't wait to hear how your weight loss goes! I know that you can do it, because you did it once before!! I am on Twitter @changedjen

Hi Jennifer,
Wow, I'm here on your blog today for the first time. And yes, I usually do comment on my first time reading someone's blog. :)

I really have to say, WOW, your transformation is amazing! All the Glory to God, Praise him for what he has done in your life.
I really am inspired with your story. I have been struggling with my weight ever since I gave birth almost 7 years ago. I do goto the gym, but I admit I don't always give 100%. Okay, I'll be honest, I barely give 50% of what I got.

~Vanessa

Vanessa - Thanks for leaving me a comment! Thanks for your encouragement. I love being able to help people reach their weight loss goals. I am not an expert, but I enjoy sharing what I have learned throughout my journey.

Thank you, Jennifer. Found you by way of Pinterest. Love your recipes, hints and your total blog! Your Christian attitude and beliefs are so refreshing, too.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! I'm a Christian too and I've been so discouraged about my weight lately. I'm very familiar with weight watchers and acheived lifetime membership years ago but now that I've hit menopause age I'm really struggling with being unable to seem to drop the pounds. I've been debating whether to get back to weight watchers and just this morning I decided to "DO IT" and I just needed a jump start by not having to put a lot into creating a meal plan for this next week. I googled menu plan for weight watchers and yours came up. I had no idea that you were a Christian too but I can't help but think God connected me with your site! Anyway I've saved it to really delve into and draw from your encouragement God Bless You for being there and taking the time to create this for us!

Wow! I found your blog from a recipe posted on Pinterest... I didn't even notice your transformation until I finished making the cake. I thought, "who is that other woman pictured here?" AND it was you!!! Congratulations on your weight loss, I can't wait to read your story :) :)

Recently the Lord has convicted me of my idolatry of food, that I truly have a heart issue. We are to do everything unto the glory of God, and I wasn't in this. By the Lord convicting me, I had to repent, I had to turn from my sin and trust in Him. Christ has already changed my life...but He was now beginning a whole new chapter again!
I started June 21st of this year doing WW...I write everything down in a journal. I also started going to the YMCA. I go everyday now and do their cycling class and their BodyPump (weight training) class.
I am so blessed and encouraged to know that I have another sister in Christ, you, that has already gone through this process and is living it! The Lord is so good to us, and He has truly used you in my life as a great encouragement!
Thank you sweet dear sister!
Truly,
Steph

Hello, I am in the process of making a big change in my life. Your blog put my timeline in prospective. I am trying to eat clean, mainly fruits and veggies, meat only twice a week, no bread, cut way down on dairy and processed food. I have MS and for myself and my health I need to make the change. Nothing happens overnight and making life changes will effect the rest of your life. Most important we have The Lord to hold us up and give us strength. I don't know how people who don't have Christ in their life make it. I couldn't. Thank you for sharing your blog and love of Jesus!

I recently made the easy berry cobbler recipe you posted and it was very good. Only thing is when it was done it was a little soupy and I followed the directions exactly, any suggestions?
