All the Things I Love About Fall

September and October are my two favorite months in the entire year, why? Because I love Fall!! I realize that the first day of Autumn isn't until September 23, but I think it is okay to jump the gun a little on this one. You see I spent a good portion of my childhood living in Connecticut and I believe that has a lot to do with why I love fall so much.

My Top 5 Things I Love About Fall

5. School

I love school, learning, going to class, carrying a backpack, packing my lunch, working on homework, reading, writing, and anything else that goes with school. I love when you walk into a store and they have just put up the school supplies for that year. I shop through that section every time I go to the store until they take it down. It's probably weird, but I do not care.

4. The Colors

I think this picture says it all. The colors are breathtaking and beautiful!!

3. Crockpot Cooking

I first introduced you to me Crockpot in my Recipe Review: Maple Ham blog post. This time of year is when I use my crockpot most. I am always on the lookout for good slow cooker recipes. I just love coming home from work, to the smell of dinner already cooked. If you find any good recipes this fall please send them my way.

2. Football!!

I grew up in a family that loves and enjoys sports of all kinds. My parents were athletes and we all have the love of sports in common. As a little girl I would cheer for my Dad's team, which in football was the New York Giants.

When I got married things changed. I could not longer just cheer for my Dad's team, but I wanted to cheer for Jon's team...Denver Broncos. So now I cheer for both!

1. Leaves

The sound that leaves make as they crunch under your feet or as the wind blows through the trees is what tells me that Fall has arrived. Like I said before I love fall colors and I think it is so neat how leaves change colors during this time of year. In the past I have collected Fall leaves and I still think I have some. I never want to forget the beauty of God's creation around me.

Do you love fall like I do? What are some of your reasons why you love fall?

I love fall because of the cooler weather. I love to be just a BIT chilly when I walk outside. I love not having to run the a/c or the furnace (because I'm super cheap). And I love fall because winter is right around the corner and I LOVE WINTER.

Mrs. O - I love jeans and sweatshirts too! Good one!

MrsMarkDave - I enjoy the cooler weather also. I live in Texas and it is just a little too hot for my taste. So fall and winter are my favorites, especially here.

I'm glad I'm not alone. I told my mom the other day that I love winter, and she just about passed out. She's kind of an outdoorsy person, and I'd be ok if I NEVER had to go outside.

MrsMarkDave - Nope you are not alone!

Danielle - I need to decorate my house! I wish my anniversary was in fall. Someday maybe I will have a baby whose birthday is in September or October.

My favorite things about fall:
The cool, crisp air that smells like falling leaves.
The smell of pumpkin pie baking in the oven!
The anticipation of the first snow. :o)

I wish we had colors like that. Fall in Arizona doesn't really start until like Thanksgiving. It's just hot here forever and then it's not hot for 3 months, but then it gets hot again.

Simply Cintia - Thanks for visiting! I can't wait to check out your blog!

Losing Brownies - That's how it is in Texas, it stays hot here for a long time. I hope to move somewhere that has a great Fall and Christmas season.

I love the fall too! Many of the same reasons, but especially cooler weather and the colors! I live in GA and the heat and humidity can be brutal in July and August, so I love when Spetmeber rolls around!

I went to college in the UP of Michigan and the fall colors were AMAZING! And I love the crispness in the air. I love apple picking, apple pie and warm cider.

Moving Mertle - I bet the colors up there were incredible! I do love anything to do with apples!

I absolutely LOVE Fall! It's my favorite season. I especially love baking with pumpkin and apples as well as fall smells... like cloves, all spice, cinnamon, vanilla... warm apple cider at the bon fire... carving the pumpkin and then baking the pumpkin seeds... such a great time of year! :)

I absolutely love fall! It's always beautiful outside with all the changing leaves... I love to look at God's awesome creation in the fall!

Also, I really like being able to pull all my sweaters and scarves out of the recesses of my closet and wear them when the weather starts to get a little cooler.

I too love the colors and beauty of nature in the fall. Also the cooler temperatures especially in the early morning hours makes me feel so energetic and happy. The coolness also brings on the desire to cook more stews and chili which I love. I will also be able to spend more time outside with my puppy cleaning up pine debris from our many pines in the front yard without getting too hot.

Glad to know other people love the leaves. I wish I had cable so I could watch more football. I loved sitting on the couch with my dad and cheering on teams. Super bowl can't come fast enough. I never cheered for my dad's team, I picked my own.

Jen Newsham said...

Jen - We don't have cable this fall either, but I am hoping that we can go to our first Texas high school football game. I think it would be fun!
