Working From Home

This morning, things at work look a lot different for me. What am I talking about?

Well, recently I received approval to work from home! I am working from home part-time during the month of August, so that I can get adjusted to my new setup and schedule.

Today is my very first day to work from home!

This change is going to last even after I have given birth to Olivia! I am so excited about working from home and be able to take care of my newborn at the same time.

I am nervous that as I work from home, I will fall into old eating habits. I do not want to be snacking all the time just because I am working next to my kitchen. I also want to continue to stay active, so I need to figure out a new workout routine for myself. I'll blog more about all of this as it comes, but those are just a few of the many changes that I am facing in the coming months and weeks.

Please continue to pray that things go well as I make this tranistion.

I would love to hear any advice for tips that you have for me!

Do any of you work at home? Do any of you stay home all day long? How do you stay on plan while being at home all day long?

I do stay home all day. I find it VERY difficult to stay on plan on certain days (if I'm feeling lazy or whatever). but, I had trouble when I was working, too.
One thing I find necessary (which I'm pretty unfaithful at) is making sure I spend time with the Lord first thing.
The other thing that helps is for me to keep busy!

Congrats on working from home! How exciting! I wish my office offered that. It will be so nice with a newborn. I think also with a newborn you probably won't have too much time to snack! Keep healthy things only in your kitchen and easily available if you do get a craving. Good luck!

I used to work from home. In one places, my office was upstairs and the kitchen was downstairs. I didn't have issues with eating at all. Our first daughter was born then, too. :) Then we moved, and I was close to the kitchen. I started having new mommy stress, and I did eat. I didn't really gain a lot of weight because I was already overweight. But you're right - the temptation is definitely there when the food is so close. I'm sure you will have plenty of healthy snack foods and fruits and veggies on hand, though. And if you nurse, you'll probably want/need to eat more anyway. You will handle it like a pro! Best of luck!

Congrats on the new office!! And good luck. I know being home can be tempting but I know that in the long run being home with your sweet baby will be the biggest blessing!

Gum!! It's my best friend. If I get too snacky (espeically in the afternoons) I'll pop a piece in and it helps me get past that snacky feeling. Also, lots and lots of fresh fruit!! Helps curb those sweet cravings that tend to hit!!! Good luck and enjoy working from home!!

Daycare! Do you intend to work from home and care for Olivia at the same time? Babies are unpredictable. Just when you need to focus, finish up the last tasks or take the one business call ...

Good luck working from home! I'm still in school and working, so I don't really have any advice other than the blog post you have from awhile back about what to do when you get a craving: and you have a huge list! Some of them have been helpful to me on my days off. =]

If you're a blogger, you're a planner. Plan your meals and stick to the plan. When all else fails reach for fruit or raw veggies when a snack attack just won't go away. You can do this!!
