8 Weeks to Thanksgiving Challenge

It has been almost one month since I gave birth to Olivia. In the last 30 days, I have not been following the Weight Watchers program. Instead, I have been trying to focus on taking care of my daugther and adjusting to life as a new Mom. We have had people bringing us meals and I knew it would be next to impossible to try and count the PointsPlus values of these foods, so I made an executive decision to take a break from the program.

However, now I am ready to get back on plan! I have been trying to figure out when would be the best time to start following the Weight Watchers PointsPlus program again. I keep telling myself I will start tomorrow, but then I never do!

I was so excited today when I received an email from my friend Amanda about the Weight Watchers Thanksgiving Challenge!! As it turns out, there are just 8 weeks until Thanksgiving and during this time Weight Watchers is offering this challenge. I think that this is the perfect time for me to get back on the Weight Watchers program.

I have decided to take this Thanksgiving Challenge and focus on getting back on plan. I hope to lose weight over these next 8 weeks. I am really excited to recommit to my weight loss journey!

Why am I tell you this? Honestly, I want you all to recommit to your weight loss journies and take this challenge with me! I know that everyone doesn't follow the Weight Watchers program and that's okay! If you want to do this challenge with me, you can follow whatever weight loss program works for you.

Do you know that if we recommit to our weight loss, by losing ½ a pound per week we could lose 4 pounds by Thanksgiving day? Or if we lost 1 pound per week, that is 8 pounds lost by Thanksgiving. And if we can lose 2 pounds per week, we could be 16 pounds lighter in just 8 weeks. Wouldn't you like to lose some weight before the holidays? I know I would like to lose weight, because I am tired of wearing maternity clothes and yoga pants all the time.

Let’s make a commitment to follow along with the 8 week challenge and work to slowly achieve one small goal per week. Below is a list of different topics that we will be focusing on over the next 8 weeks of the challenge. Everything on this list is doable and can help you accomplish a weight loss between now and Thanksgiving

So, if you want to look and feel healthier by the time Thanksgiving rolls around, accept this challenge!

Please leave me a comment to let me know if you are accepting this challenge. Leave me your name and the weight loss program that you will be following over the next 8 weeks.

I am so excited that I do not have do this challenge and that I get to do it with all of you!!

Count me in! With the sailors in my house making it tough (for example, they ordered pizza last night, when I didn't have the room for it in my day, so I went for a walk and by the time I got back, the pizza was cold and didn't smell delicious anymore - and I made myself salad, grilled steak, and a side of Acorn Squash! Delicious, cheaper, and MUCH healthier!) - I could really use some support staying on track! I'm up and rolling w/ MyFitnessPal.com (JDRBT username) and I'd be happy to follow this on my own blog as well!

I accept this challenge! I'm doing the old ww points system. I lost 68 pounds on it and have 10 more to lose. They've been hanging on for dear life. That makes it so much easier to slack. Slacking is over! Challenge accepted!!! Thanks!

I've been a Weight Watcher since Feb 2012 and have lost 44 lbs so far! I'm commited to this 8 week challenge and hope to lose at least 4 lbs but would like to at least reach the 50 lb milestone. I would proudly wear my 50 lb charm to Thanksgiving Diner! Best Wishes to you and your new little blessing.

I am committing to getting back on program too. I will start tracking in my WW journal writing each bite down, and next will be calculating PP+ values. You are right, we can all be further ahead and add to the things we have to be thankful for

Hi, my name is Laura and I want to be counted in with this Challenge. I joined WW last March, lost 20lbs then had to drop out due to finances. Now I've gained almost half of it back and am discouraged. Hopefully this will be the great pick me up that I need!!

Hi! I am trying to lose weight currently, so the challenge sounds right up my alley! I just met what I set as my first personal goal, and I want to keep moving.

One CAVEAT for you: please check with your physician if you are breast feeding. My daughter was not allowed to continue with her program (LA weight loss) because feeding a baby takes extra calories. I don't know how that follows for you . . . but just a word of caution. If you are bottle feeding and using a formula, then of course it would be no problem.

My name is Limay and I'm on the Weight Watchers program. As a matter of fact today was my weigh in day, and I was a bit disappointed because I only lost 0.8 lbs and I had a good good week so I really don't know what happened. But I decided that I was not going to sabotage my weight loss journey and continue on even if I just lost 0.8 pounds. So, yes I accept your challenge with a goal to lose 8 pounds by thanksgiving. Love, love your blog!!

Thanks so much for sharing this challenge. I'd gotten the Weight Watchers' e-mail, but hadn't gotten motivated to get back on program. If you can do it with a new baby, I can get back on also! Thanks!

Hi, Jen. I just found your blog tonight. I have been on the WW program in the past - actually did it to lose baby weight after my son was born (2010). Have pretty much maintained since then... but falling off the wagon as of late. I'm currently using MyFitnessPal (when I remember) and need some accountability. I'm looking forward to following your blog. My username is "jogginmomma".
I'm also excited to try some of your recipes. My family is always game to try new things! thanks! and good luck!

I'm in! We just got back from a vacation to the UK and Iceland. Needless to say, fruits and veggies were not as much as my eating as they should have been. This is a great way to get back on track!!
