It seems like I've been searching for that "passion" (both at church and professionally) that you and the devotion talk about for a long long time... and sometimes I struggle with feeling like God left me out when he was assigning gifts and callings! But to buy into that would be to ignore everything else I know about God, so the search continues :)

I also just wanted to encourage you that while you may still be searching for your place in the church, don't discount the work that you do here and at your meetings! You are providing encouragement and help in a way that I know that God can really use! He's taking your old weight (worst) and using it for something amazing here, even beyond WW (best)! It is hard not to get discouraged but I know that sometimes even the smallest things we do can turn into the greatest blessings.Primitives By The Light of The Moonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13762134654218599616noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7392953914136595057.post-54553465907266790702013-01-04T23:01:14.693-06:002013-01-04T23:01:14.693-06:00Thank you. I feel my journey of losing weight and keeping it off sounds similar to yours, and so does my relationship with the Lord right now. thank you for these thoughts and for giving me just what I needed to hear today, or better yet, God giving you the words so He could speak to me.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00595179243469864523noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7392953914136595057.post-38305501535437757862013-01-04T21:31:19.797-06:002013-01-04T21:31:19.797-06:00Thank you for this post. If you have a laptop/tablet or even a phone, there are APPs that have it. For example, http://www.biblegateway.com/
Type in the book and chapter and then click the megaphone icon and viola.Steviehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06174097668900643052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7392953914136595057.post-11481257910628908822013-01-04T12:17:41.495-06:002013-01-04T12:17:41.495-06:00This is just what I needed to hear today. After reading the devotional and your post, I know I need to give my worst to Him and He will always help me. God Bless you and your family and thank you again.Denisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01835324110414580838noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7392953914136595057.post-28078918659804196382013-01-04T10:06:47.723-06:002013-01-04T10:06:47.723-06:00I sat down to check email and blogs before spendin...I sat down to check email and blogs before spending time with the Lord this morning. Your line, "Maybe you are like me and you are not at your best right now." has made me cry because I am SO frustrated with myself beyond belief. What I want to do, I don't do (refrain from giving into temptation) and what I don't want to do, I continue to do (eating like a cow). I don't understand why I keep doing it. Because nothing feels worse than the next morning.
I keep begging God to change me, and I feel ignored. Not because God isn't good and faithful. I feel He's ignoring me because I'm doing something wrong. Is my heart not right? Am I asking Him to fill me with love for Him for the wrong reasons? I am desperate to only love him and not the lesser things in life, but I keep putting Him off and continue loving the lesser things in life.
I am so discouraged. But, I must keep on keeping on.mrsmarkdavehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03521454731301268239noreply@blogger.com
